AssertiveCommunity Treatment - Griffin

Thesubstance abuse counselor is a member of the Act Team providing services topeople who experience serious and persistent mental illness with co-existingsubstance abuse disorders. Duties include assessment, recovery-focusedtreatment planning, group and individual substance abuse treatment and casemanagement tasks as needed. Collaborates with other stakeholders such as families,residential facilities or inpatient facilities, services provided in thecommunity (not in the office)

NOTE : McIntosh Trail Community Service Boardconducts background checks on all final candidates. Hiring of applicants iscontingent upon satisfactory results of:

FingerprintBased Background Check of the Georgia and Federal Criminal History Record 
Drug Screen
Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for seven years

TB testing will be required upon appointment. If you have previously testedpositive for TB, you will be required to bring a copy of your chest x-ray onyour first day of orientation.

:Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Behavioral Hlth Counselor 1 (HCP100) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may require certification or licensure.Preferred Qualifications - External:

Requirescurrent Georgia License or Certification as a CAC I, CADC I, CAC II,

or CADC II Experience with community -based services, ACT Teams, or past work with co- occurring SA/SPMI population.Experience documenting in an electronic health record.
